Harper's Magazine was launched as Harper's New Monthly Magazine in June 1850, by the New York City publisher Harper & Brothers. Harper's Monthly Magazine contains serial and short stories from the best writers in Europe and America of it's time. Each issue contains illustrated aritcles of travel, history, science, poetry and current topics. Many notable contributors included Stephen Crane, Mark Twain,and William Howell. Artistic contibutors included Winslow Homer, Frederick Remington and N.C.Wyeth. This is the second oldest contiuuosly published monthly magazine in the United States.
